Itsuka Shido adalah siswa SMA. Di hari terakhir liburan musim seminya, sebuah ledakan menghancurkan kota dan seorang gadis berbaju besi muncul di hadapannya. Adik ipar Shido, Kotori, mengatakan padanya bahwa gadis itu adalah salah satu dari "roh" yang menyebabkan gempa luar angkasa. Kotori adalah komandan organisasi anti-roh yang bernama Ratatosk dan merekrut Shido untuk memakai kekuatan misteriusnya menyegel kekuatan roh. Untuk menyegel kekuatan roh, Shido harus membuat mereka jatuh cinta padanya.
